QLA Middle School

The QLA middles school curriculum is an international curriculum, aiming to combine academic rigor and to equip students with skills and attitudes appropriate to the challenges and opportunities of contemporary society. Our focus is on developing the leadership qualities necessary to create the leaders of tomorrow.

The middle years curriculum covers the age range 11 to 16 (grade 6-10). AT QLA we do not follow one set text book. Rather, a variety of text books and resources are used. For example it may be appropriate to draw from a variety of texts and use a variety of sources of information such as the internet, journal articles, audio and visual texts, text books and more.

The following subjects are offered:

English, Arabic, Islamic Studies, French, Humanities, Information Technology, Design Technology, Science, Mathematics, Physical Education, Visual Arts, Leadership and Heritage classes.

QLA High School

Qatar Leadership Academy is an IB World School, offering the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program in grades 11 and 12. The IB DP is a comprehensive and rigorous two-year curriculum, leading to examinations at the end of the second year. Based on the pattern of no single country, it is a deliberate compromise between the specialization required in some national systems and the breadth preferred in others.

Apart from taking on the core elements of Theory of Knowledge, CAS, and an Extended Essay, the IB Diploma students choose six subjects for their two-year programme of study, covering at least three Higher Levels (240 hours) and the others at Standard Level (150 hrs). The following subjects are offered at QLA:

English A or B, Arabic A or B, French B, Economics, History, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Design Technology.
